It's easy to create a Google Maps mashup, and you should put aside 10 minutes to learn how. You don't need to know a bit of code for this, and you'll even have some fun in the process. You'll be adding original content to your website (because they will give you a link to embed the map) and you'll be adding context to the story by showing the relevant locations.
It's all here. You'll need a Google account. Create one for your station. (You should do this anyway, to take advantage of the Google Reader RSS.) Once you're in Google Maps, you go to My Maps > Create New Map. From there, it couldn't be easier. You drag and drop a blue pin on your map. You can add rich content (pictures, videos, descriptions) just as you've seen on other mashups.
Honestly, until I looked into it, I figured you needed to own software or, at the very least, know some serious code. You just need to work a keyboard and a mouse.
Start mashing.
